Looking good is trendy—from your shoes to your clothes, perfume, wristwatch, and even your haircut. Therefore, every part of you must look smart. Apart from getting trendy haircuts, it would help if you always cared for your hair every day. Now, it may seem like a time-wasting event, especially if you are rushing somewhere, but you should still invest a bit of time into doing it. Your hair is one of the first things people notice about you—a factor for formulating an opinion on your person.
You can save time getting ready for work in the morning by treating your hair the night before. By doing this, you will preserve the integrity of your hair and look great the next day when you wake up. First, however, you must do the following things to your hair every day:
1. Wash your hair daily
Shampooing your hair every day can cause the natural oils in your hair to dry up. Therefore, you should wash your hair at least twice or three times a week. However, if you live in a highly polluted environment or are exposed to high humidity, you have to wash your hair every day to prevent dandruff and reduce the irritation on your scalp. You should also wash your hair every day if you have greasy hair. When you wash your hair, always use cold water. Hot water will dry out your hair and make it brittle, but cold water will close the cuticle, allowing moisture to remain in every strand of your hair.
2. Comb your hair thoroughly
You should not comb your hair when it is wet. Our hair is more fragile when it is wet and combing it might result in hair breakage and loss. Before you take your morning shower, comb your hair first to detangle all the knots in it. After you have showered, you can dry your hair and then comb it again. You should comb your hair from the base upward in regular strokes.
3. Protect from heat damage
The sun gifts us many things, but it does not help to be under it at some particular time of the day. It is, for this reason, we have sunscreen for the face, skin, and hair. Yes, there is sunscreen for the hair, and you need to get one. When you apply this to your hair, it will help you prevent the damage that the sun can cause. You should use hair sunscreen before you blow-dry your hair or style it.
4. Apply natural products
Natural products are the gentlest on your hair. They do not have the abrasive effects that chemical-ladened products have on the hair because of the herbal extracts used to make them. In addition, natural hair care products will open up the pores of your hair and allow hair to enter—they let your hair breathe.
Also, you need to apply hair products in the right amounts to your hair. If you add too much, it is no different from using chemical products on your hair, and if you add too little, you will not achieve anything with it.
5. Take care of scalp
Scrub your scalp but do it gently. If you scrub your scalp roughly, you will injure it and cause it to redden. Instead, when you want to wash your scalp, rub it in small circles with your finger pads and rinse well with cold water to close up the hair cuticles. If you, do it well, you should be able to take care of the shampoo and conditioner residue on your scalp, the dirt, and the excess oils.
6. Minimize your use of heat styling tools
Try not to use heat styling tools on your hair every day; instead, use a heat-free styling method. If you really must use a heat styling tool, make sure to use your hair sunscreen beforehand.
Finally, make sure to eat healthy foods, especially protein-rich foods. Your hair will benefit a lot from protein foods like fish, eggs, chicken, dairy products, nuts, and legumes.
